one of my favorite taco spots! been here a couple times and every time, the line moves very quickly + amazing tacos + salsa bar with a bunch of other toppings like picked onion, radishes, etc + free potatoes upon request - nowhere to sit - can get busy/ no parking available on their lot

Had to come back and write an updated review! This place has become my favorite go to place for tacos. There's plenty of available parking, and the staff are really quick. They also have menu of meats that they offer which makes it really easy to decide what to get. My favorites are Lengua and Al Pastor. You can grab some charred onions and a hot potato. The sauces and toppings are always fully stocked, fresh, and delicious. Pick up an aqua Fresca as well, I always get the horchata!

Easiest 5/5. Came late on a Friday night after landing in LAX, and it hit the spot. Large parking lot, although it gets packed. Service is so efficient; walk up to the guys and tell them what you want, make it to the end of the line for a potato, then pay (cash and card accepted!). 16 for our 7 tacos, goddamn what a steal compared to the Bay Area. There's a separate salsa + condiments bar, including grilled onions & peppers (!!), which was so great for loading up my tacos. Al pastor was def the best, highly recommend. Cabeza was delicious but don't forget the lime to cut some of the fattiness. Asada was not bad, but not the star in comparison to the Al pastor. Can't wait to be back (maybe tomorrow?!)

Had a chance to come by here yesterday while visiting a friend in East LA. Very conveniently located in a parking lot down the street from Little Tokyo, making it not so difficult to find. These were some really good tacos. They are two dollars each one and they give you a fair amount of meat for each one and they are also a pretty good size. The service is also incredibly quick since they are constantly cooking more meat, you never really have to wait very long. Although I went on a Monday at around 6 pm so maybe other days it's a lot busier, who knows? I also really liked how they give out these free boiled potatoes. They are extremely tender and taste really good for some reason. After paying for your food, they have a section for the sauce, condiments and vegetable. I also liked the variety of sauces they had as well as the sides; they had grilled peppers, pickled onions, onions and cilantro and limes too. Will definitely come back here next time I'm in LA and want cheap and good Mexican food!

My absolutely favorite tacos EVER. I have been coming to Avenue 26 since my high school days.. before it blew up back in like 2016. Taco prices went up since 2016 but still so worth it -- this is one of the places I usually go to after the club or a late night hangout in DTLA xD You usually go and order the amount of tacos you want, then you pay afterwards. I usually get al pastor or cabeza. The meats are always sooo flavorful & juicy -- I literally cannot go to any other taco place LOL. There is a variety of meats to chose from & there's a self serve area for the onions/cilantro/ salsas. My absolute favorite part of this experience is the potato they give you at the end :D I always ask for an extra I loveeee me my potatoes. So happy to see how much Ave. 26 evolved since I was in high school. It truly makes me so happy to see their business grow & flourish -- well deserved with the quality of food they deliver.
